Dementia Care

St Andrew’s Village has provided specialised care to residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s for over 20 years.

Henry Campbell House (opened in 2004) is specifically designed to meet the special needs of those with dementia.

Recent refurbishment now provides distinct coloured areas and reminiscent areas such as a library, sports corner and baby's room.

The bright spacious facility with sheltered courtyard gardens, includes a secure unit for those with advanced dementia, has large ensuite bedrooms, open plan dining room and lounge areas allowing for activities and entertainment such as music therapy.

Residents enjoy bus trips and visits to places of interest. Trained in dementia care, staff working in Henry Campbell House value ‘their’ residents who are treated with dignity and respect.

Staff who have a passion for working with people with dementia are excited about our new 10 bed all male unit opening early 2017.
Philosophy of care will promote family "home from home" environment with residents being involved in activities of their daily living like making breakfast, helping in the kitchen, feeding pets etc.

We pride ourselves on having strong consultation with families so they are informed and feel involved. We encourage residents to bring personal items such as pictures and photographs etc for their room.

Residents have access to our physiotherapy department and a variety of activities and social stimulation.

Our Pastoral care team visit residents regularly if they choose and multi denominational church services are also provided in the chapel.

Rest Home Care

Our trained staff promote independence as long as possible whilst also recognising that we cater for varying levels of care.

Residents share communal living spaces where participation and stimulation each day is encouraged with daily outings and various activities (please see the activities page for more information).

Palliative Care

End of life is personally planned to meet the needs of the residents and their families. We have a pastoral care team who visit on a regular basis and are able to be contacted at times of need.
We also operate three specialist Palliative care beds which we run in conjunction with Dove Hospice. Staff work with Dove Hospice who arrange for therapies, fresh flowers and counselling to be provided.

Respite Care

There are also situations for those who have recently been hospitalised and are needing further care before returning home either into the community or to their homes in our retirement village.
